Why $99 instead of $400
The Sovereign is the price point where most couples stop at the jeweller and downgrade : a ring-box-with-integrated-light at a luxury jeweller starts at $400 and climbs past $800 for octagonal silhouettes. The reason is the showroom, not the box. We make the same class of object, in the same kind of facility, but we ship it directly to you in a kraft mailer. Designed for low-light moments
Most engagement proposals happen in low light : a restaurant, a sunset, a candlelit room, the moment in the car right before you go inside. The ring catches almost nothing in that lighting. The Sovereign was designed to fix exactly that.
Inside the lid, a precision LED activates the second the box opens. It's positioned to spotlight the centre stone from above, the same angle a photographer would use to make the diamond come alive. It's not gimmicky : you don't see the LED itself, you see the ring suddenly catching every facet.
The exterior is octagonal, which sounds like a small choice but isn't. Every cheap ring box is rectangular. The eight-sided silhouette is what makes the Sovereign register as different the moment she sees it, before she even opens it.
The onyx microfiber leather is deep, almost black, with a subtle matte sheen. The antique gold band runs along the seam where the lid meets the body : a single line of metal, not a logo, not a flourish. Inside, the indigo velvet is dense enough that the ring sits without touching the LED, and the LED can be replaced (LR41 button cell, two included, 2 to 3 years of normal use each).
